Whiskey Slough runs through the heart of McDonald Island in the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta. The slough was a navigable body of water and tidally influenced before the reclamation of McDonald Island. Landon Blake (the founder of Redefined Horizons) performed historical research, analysis, interpretation of aerial photos, and boundary surveys to locate the historic extent of Whiskey Slough on McDonald Island. This work was important to establish the limits of public rights to the bed of Whiskey Slough on the island.
